Kayla at the School Science Fair...
Kayla at the District Science Fair...
And finally Kayla at the State Science Fair...
which was held at BYU. Here she is with Cosmo (the 2nd - as the Real Cosmo was at the Sweet 16 BYU game) and Brenna cheering her on. Kayla had a great run with her Science Fair Project "Chews to Chew" this year. It was about whether chewing gum, and particularly what type of gum, is most beneficial for your teeth if you are unable to brush after eating. She did really well in her interviews with the judges in terms of explaining and talking about her project and that helped her to get to this level. It was a lot of work, and sometimes hard to juggle with all of the other things she has on her plate right now, but she is very determined and 'strives for excellence' in al that she does. Congrats Kayla! You did GREAT!

Soccer Woes
A few hours after finising her TRI, Aubrey had a soccer game. Our family hasn't been bit by the 'Soccer Mom - This is the best sport EVER bug' yet. Maybe it's the weather, as it's been pretty cold for all of her games, or maybe it's the lack of scoring, I don't know. We love watching her play, but we are sometimes bored at her long games. Here's a quick view of Em and B entertaining themselves during the game.

TRI Kick-off
Aubrey had her 1st triathlon of the season. It was a Timed Indoor TRI put on by Lifetime Fitness. She was the only Youth participant among all the adults, but she held her own.
The swim was 10 mins timed - swim as far as you can. She covered 400 meters and looked really strong.
The bike was her favorite. She hooked up her Ipod and was rockin out and riding fast. You can't even see her feet in the above picture. She got into a good cadence and in the 30 minutes allotted for the bike, she rode 14.4 miles. Rock On!

On to the run, or the treadmill in this case. Not her favorite part, but a necessary one to finish. She had 20 mins. on the treadmill and finished 1.75 miles. It was a great race, great way to kick off the year, and now (hoping that warmer weather will be here soon) she's ready to TRI outside. You did soooo awesome Aubs. We are all very proud of you!

Lindz Show
Today was Lindsay's 4th grade program.
Her class sang, played their recorders, and square danced. It is always fun to see them perform.
My favorite part is when they sing the UTAH song. UTAH - This is the Place. Oh, I love that song. Congrats on another great show!

Lindz Party
Lindz party included pizza, cupcakes, crafts, friends, family, frosting, and fun.
She is always so happy and truly grateful for everything she has.
Including a great group of friends. Even though she has the longest legs of anyone in our family, she's still one of the short ones amongst her friends.
The last activity was "Minute-to-Win-it" games. They all had a blast trying to stack, kick, chopstick, wrap, and roll different objects in less than a minute. She has a fun group of friends and we're glad they could all come to celebrate this special day with her.

Lindsays 10th Bday
Our Lindsay is 10 years old today. Ten years old?! It doesn't seem that long ago when I delivered her at the little Orem Community Hospital. She was our Mon-che-che baby, red as could be with lots of black spiky hair. Oh, the comments we used to get about her hair.
She was my only baby born in the middle of the night, 12:34am and we went home together the next day before lunch. She is as kind and generous as they come, bringing joy to all those around her. She loves the color purple and pasta with parmesan cheese. She has a heart of gold and we can't imagine our family without her.
A cute box full of Crunch bars from her sister. She was my only baby born in the middle of the night, 12:34am and we went home together the next day before lunch. A new running suit from Mom and Dad.
And making a wish on this very special day. We love you Lindsay and are so proud of the amazing young women that you are!

Snow is Falling
Snow is falling all around, On the housetop, on the ground.
Snow is falling on my nose, On my head and hands and toes.
It's a beautiful snowy day here. Aubrey, Mason, and Brenna headed out for a walkSnow is falling on my nose, On my head and hands and toes.
While Lindsay went to catch some snowflakes in her mouth
In her pajamas
And Emi just wanted to get right in it, leaving footprints and handprints on the driveway. Though we are all looking forward to Spring, we still don't mind to see a little snow every once in awhile.
We are Loved
This morning we woke up to a surprise - a few inches of fresh snow and an 'I love you heart' in the front yard. We are Loved and we feel it. Thx Bub!
