Full Fish for K's Final Dinner

Kayla ate fresh fish almost daily in the Philippines.
This tilapia wasn't fresh from the ocean, but fresh from Costco.
We're not used to cooking an entire fish, but it was fun to try something  different.

We were a little hesitant

But it was delicious, the eye balls and all.  Fun to celebrate Kay on this last night living at home.

Have such a fun year babe!  Sorry that Jett can't join you

But luckily you do get to take your new Thomas the Train rolling backpack.
Love you!

Lagoon Adventures

We love going to Lagoon Amusement Park in the summer. We weren't sure we'd make it this year, but with 1 week to go, we all took a break from work and headed to Lagoon.
We started the day with the Spooky ride and it caused some serious scares and screams.

The were the only 2 able to habdle the twisty, turny, upside-downy Samarai.  I almost got dizzt wayching from the side.

Then onto the most memorable ride of the day - Cliffhanger.
It was a hot day, upper 90's, so getting wet was welcome and refreshing.
It was so welcoming and refreshing that Emily decided to stay for awhile. The ride ended, everyone exited the ride, the next group started loading in and Em remained in buckled in her seat.  Officially locked in to her seat, with no escape. Workers tried to help release her, but to no avail.  They had to call in a 'grey shirt' worker from across the park to finally release her.  See video below...

Back to rides.  After the issues on Cliffhanger, we decided to realx with a train ride to see the Lagoon Zoo.  We always forget how sad it is to see these huge animals in the tiny Lagoon Zoo.

Camels were the only animals I got a pic of

Some daughters of the 'old women who lived in the shoe'

Coolin' off in the splash pad

Seriously mind blowing Magic Show.  Kayla was 'shook'

Finshed the night off with the same ride we started with, and yes Emily still screamed from fright.

Emily's Cliffhanger Rescue Worker freeing her from the ride.

Fish Farwells

We had to say Goodbye to a few of our fish friends lately.  We held funerals for both Felischa & Stu.

Felischa Janae Miller was a gift given to Brenna by her friends that won her at the South Jordan Fair last summer.  Brenna loved talking to Felischa after school about her day and giving all her friends updates on how she was doing. She was gracious enough to share her bowl with Stu when he joined the family.  Felischa was found belly up on May 9th, 2020.  She was placed in the freeezer until the girls could plan a funeral and provide a burial site for her.

Stu Christensen Miller was a foster fish that we took in about a year ago also.  He was given to our good friend Josh as part of a dance proposal, but Josh's mom worried that her would not care for him properly, so asked if we would take care of him.  Stu was a great addition to the fish bowl and made it dirtier much faster than Felischa did. Even though Stu was a beta, he never tried to eat Felischa, even in death, and we were grateful for that.  Each of our fish friends are now buried out in our garden area and the girls put together very nice funerals for each of them.  We have now retired the fish bowl and will not longer being accepting new pets, even as gifts.

Saftey First

Kai got a new bike and new helmet for his birthday.  He loves having you put his helmet on for him when he's outside by his bike.  Is he not the cutest little guy ever?  Love Him!
