#18 KAYLA MILLER
Kayla’s BYU journey started with some challenges as she was still suffering the effects of a traumatic brain injury from high school lacrosse. She was determined to live on campus and have the full college experience, even though she could only take 1 academic class. After receiving some cutting-edge therapy her freshman year, she was able to recover most of her cognitive and physical abilities. Kayla’s recovery enabled her to fulfill her dream of serving a full-time mission. She was called to the Cebu, Philippines mission and loved and served everyone she met there, and hopes to return there one day.
Upon returning from
her mission, and after 3 years away from lacrosse, Kayla worked hard to make
the BYU team. She has excelled both in the classroom and on the field. She has thoroughly enjoyed playing with the
Cougars for the past 3 seasons, and especially the chance to play with her
sister Lindsay. She loves her teammates and coaches and will miss them more
than anything at BYU.
Academically she has strived to take advantage of all the opportunities BYU has to offer.
A few highlights have been - 2 Summer internships in Rwanda & Uganda, working with the Ballard Center for Social Impact, & attending as many devotionals, forums, & sporting events as possible. Kayla will graduate with a degree in Public Health and plans to spend her life helping others.
CONGRATS Kay on a great career here at BYU!
