Egg Hunt 2010

This is our 4th Annual Easter Egg Hunt. The first year, the chocolate in the eggs melted due to the heat. This year we had a fire going in the fire pit and we were all bundled up. You never can predict Spring weather in Utah. But, we just take it as it comes and have a great time. We had some of our original egg hunters here this year. We missed some of our neighborhood egg hunters who had another hunt in the neighborhood and had some new egg hunter friends join us. Here is Brenna with her friend Carson. He is one of her friends from the Little Gym and they are very good buddies.

Egg hunters in action. I know we stuffed over 1000 eggs, but I lost track after that. There we plenty for the taking. Unfortunately, our yard in early spring doesn't provide as many hiding spots as later in the season. Oh well.

Thanks to everyone that came and brought such yummy food. We had a serious feast this year. Each family is an important part of our lives and we appreciate being able to spend this special morning together. We love you!

Favorite Places

Cheer Comp

Aubrey had a Cheer Competition today at the Salt Palace. From a parents point of view, this was a good competition. Very organized and family friendly. It was also a great comeptition for Ace All Star Cheer. Their squad is definitely getting better and it's fun to watch them. Robert got an upclose video of Aubrey performing, but we can't seem to find it on our computer. If I do find it, I'll post it.

Magnetix

Here are some of the creations the girls have made with the Magnetix set Lindsay got for her birthday. Luckily there are 380 pieces to share among them, so they can build to their hearts content.

Snowy Run

Robert after a 20 mile run. He made it about 13 miles before the snow storm blew in. I drove out and offered to pick him up, but he wanted to finish. Does this look like fun to you......

Lindz 9th B-day

Lindsay Brooke Miller is 9 today. I can't believe she's already 9. She is such a joy to our family and a wonderful daughter. She came to Earth within a day of her cousin, Anna Lindsay Holt, and will always have a special connection with her. Her birth came at a pivotal time in our lives, as we had just decided to move from Provo to our 1st home in South Jordan. She is happy and kind and LOVES the color purple. She is well loved by her friends, teachers, and family. For her birthday she got her 1st pair of earrings and a gift card to get her ears pierced. She also got a pair of purple shoes from Aubrey, and a bookmark from Kayla. One of her favorite gifts, as well as her sisters, was a huge Magnetix set, which I'll have to write a separate post about. She has always enjoyed putting things together.

She also loves to read. This girl goes through books like crazy. Every night she can be found up on the top bunk with piles of books around her. She is currently reading the Bible, cover to cover, during her daily scripture reading.

She decided she wanted curly hair for her birthday, so I did the sponge curler thing the night before. Does this bring back memories for any of you?

We love our Lindsay so much and are so grateful she is a part of our family. Love you lots Girl!

Murrietta B-Ball Champs

We happened to be in town for the CIF High School Basketball Championships played down at The Pond in Anaheim. My cousins husband, Steve Tarabilda, is the Varsity Coach at Murrieta Valley and they were playing against Compton for the Division II Championship (I hope I got that right). My Dad was already going, so the girls and I decided to join him. I hadn't been to The Pond since Robert played in the Semi-Finals there against Dominguez Hills, and the make-up of this game reminded me a lot of that. *** Robert just told me he played at The Pyramid in Long Beach - not The Pond in Anaheim. I got my basketball venues mixed up.***As you can see by Grandpa and Emi's faces, it was an intense game.

OH, it was a great game! Steve's son Jake was the point guard last year, and is now playing college ball at University San Diego. This year, his next son Mark, is the point guard. Though he was doing a great job of running the offense, with less than 3 minutes left in the game, he still had not scored. It was a close game with many lead changes. Mark ended up scoring and getting a foul shot at the most pivotal point of the game. Murrieta then took and kept the lead, winning the Championship. We could not have been happier for their team, school, fans, and families We waited after the game to see them come out. My cousin Brian, found this photo opt for the Miller Girls.

Here is the proud Tarabilda Family. After the game we headed to In N Out with Aunt Sally, Uncle Terry, and Brian and then to their house for games. We're so glad we could share this day with the Tomlinson/Tarabilda clans. Congrats!

Disney Days

Here's a few of our favorite photos from our days at Disneyland. We love this place!!! Headed into the park. One day we started at Disneyland and another day we started at California Advneture.Kay and Lindz about to board Space Mountain. Without Aubrey and Dad, I found myself riding alone on some of these scarier rides.

Emily and Lindsay were very into pin trading this trip. They would walk right up to workers and start looking at their pins. Kayla, on the other hand, wasn't into the trading thing at all. She likes the ones she has, and doesn't want to trade with anyone. I don't know if they had this pin trading phenomena when I was a kid, but if they did, I didn't participate.

Celebrate You!!! That's the theme for this year and the girls love to get out in the street and be part of the parade. We're here so much we now recognize the dancers and performers in the parade.

Tea Cups. One of the rides I don't ride. Blah. But Grandma always takes them on it, and they love it. I'm guessing Emi picked the yellow tea cup.

In the end, all that fun, just wears you out.

We'll be back at Disneyland next month, and again the month after that. I'm telling you, we love this place!

Skiiers

With Mom and the other girls off to Disneyland, Dad and Aubrey decided to do some night skiing together at Brighton. They headed out after school and had a fun time together. Aubrey, you have an awesome Dad!!!

Travelers

I know the look. As I enter the airport with the girls, suits cases in tow, 'the look' begins. Eye brows start to raise and those in the check-in line start to nudge their travel partners to take a look. Is that lady really traveling by herself with all those kids? I hope we don't get stuck sitting by that family. There are some who offer assistance, and there are those that just give us 'the look'. It happens every time.But I'm telling you, these girls are great travelers. They know the drill, know what to expect, and what is expected of them, and flying is something we really enjoy.

And there's nothing better than flying Jet Blue. Nice roomy seats, good snacks, and individual TV's.

Another great thing about taking Jet Blue back to So Cal, is landing in Long Beach. It often reminds me of the small airport from the old TV show 'Wings'. They park the plane, you walk down the steps onto the tarmac, through the one room building to the outside carousels to get your luggage. Simple and easy.

Here they are waiting for the luggage to come. We were without Dad and Aubrey again on this trip due to work and school obligations. It's hard to have three kids on year round, with three week breaks every nine weeks and one on a traditional school calendar, with just one long summer. Luckily Aubrey was excited to do some fun stuff with Dad while we were gone.
