B is Licensed to Drive

She is fully licensed and ready to DRIVE.

Yay!!!

It feels like this has been a loooong time coming.
Probably doesn't help that Boston has been driving for 9 months & Jayden for 6 months
And that Driver's Ed at the school is so many months behind, or that she's a late summer birthday,
but all of that is behind her now.

She is official and sooo excited to hit the road

Bye B, Bye Jesse

1st Day of BYU

Linz & Jer heading to class from their apartment at Wymount

Em & Kay leaving for school from the Blue House

These girls are really really good to each other.  Not sure that's something you can teach, or if it's just what comes naturally to them

Brenna & Devan headed down for a quick visit

Linz & Jer heading to the temple after class

Late Night Visit

Got to visit with one of our favorites tonight as she begins to pack up her house and move into a retirement center about a mile away.  From the time we moved in, Betty has always opened her heart and home to our family.  We've spent many a nights with her on her couch or porch talking about our lives, our girls, our hopes & our struggles and learning about her life, marriage, children, and her testimony.

She married her sweetheart shortly after they graduated from high school and was a military wife as he served in the Korean war.  She spent much of her life caring for their 3 children and for her husband who was wheelchair bound for most of their marriage, and found it a joy to be able to serve him in everyway.

She has always had a strong testimony of the Savior and His divine guidance in her life. In her 70's, she served a proselyting mission in England with other sisters who were in their early 20's, and learned so much about the gospel and loving others through her full time mission. In her 80's (not the 1980's) she served as the Relief Society President in our ward, always checking in on and caring for the sisters in our neighborhood,  Now in her 90's, she continues to drive herself to the temple and the grocery store, work on family history,  and is always willing to share some chocolate from her secret stashes.  She is much more of a night owl than a morning person. She loves flowers and when her yard is perfectly manicured.  She likes late night TV, getting her hair done and having her nails painted.  She is spunky, full of life, and we count her as such a great blessing in our lives.  We will miss coming to her home on holidays and nightly walks, but we those visits will just move to a new location.  Love you Betty!

Moving day for Kay & Em

The girls have started packing up their stuff

Kay has been staying in the basement for the past few weeks

using the workout room for overflow storage

Em has been in B's old room upstairs sine May.
They kinda got a lot of stuff, but it is all headed to their new house (Blue house) in Provo today

Loaded up both Infiniti's once a twice

and we were ready to help to help them move

Their new room on the 2nd floor of the Blue House.  Hard to believe that all their stuff is going to fit into this one room, but we have complete confidence in these 2 and their abilities.

Blue House Move-In

With Kay graduating in April, she and Em knew they wanted to be roommates this final year together at BYU. And their dream location would be the infamous 'blue house' next to Brick Oven. They began trying to get into this highly sought property back in March.

The owner planned to remodel the home, which is listed on the Provo Historical Registry, so the odds of getting to live the 'blue house' were not very good, but they did not give up. All summer.... they emailed, texted, called Mike the landlaord & then they prayed.

With only 2 weeks before school starting, and with lots of faith but no back up plan, Mike let them know that he would give them a month-to-month lease on the house they had fallen in love with.
Dreams do come true.

Finished off the move with lunch at our favorite Provo burger joint - Seven Brothers

Christensen Move

Lindsay and Jeremy are moving from their 1st basement apartment (Red House)  to Wymount (Married student housing at BYU)
Kitchen was probably the hardest room to pack up. This girl does a lot of cooking.

Bedroom packed up

Loading up the trailer

Let the rain begin
It was raining so hard,  they decided they didn't want to get everything wet moving it to their new 3rd floor apartment, so we got to spend one more evening together in SoJo
Nest morning they got all moved in and are loving their new 2 bedroom apartment right across the way from Rachel & Gavin - some of their best friends!
Those college years are seriously the BEST!

Sand Hollow

Spent the afternoon at Sand Hollow
Em brought her Uke & Laptop to do TA training.  She's ready

Kayla & I just soaked up the sun and sand

Best nap of the trip

Lava Tubes

Needed to stop by te Dollar Store to get glow sticks for our 1st adventure

The infamous Lava Tube Hike

As you can see, this hike takes place underground, That looks ore like a cave tham a hike to me., so I will be sitting this oe out at ground level.

I checked out the lava fields above ground while they opened they're glow sticks to see down below ground.

I was relieved and happy when they finally emerges from the tube.
They both agreed that the Lava Tube is NOT for me :)

Glad to have them back above ground

Sure love these girls!!!
