LAX team boating

We took some of Brenna's BYU Lax team boating up at Deer Creek.
The girls surfed, ate, hung out, tanned, and laughted a lot.

When everyone was done, Robert went out for a quick surf.
When he fell, the board shot up and hit him in the head.

Blood everywhere. With a boat full of BYU students, surely there wouls be one studying nursing, medicine, physical therapy, something? Nada. So Brenna took the lead on checking the wound and applying pressure with a boat towel.  She believed that stitches or staples were necessary. So while I tried ti hold the towel against his head, Robert drove the boat back to the ramp, loaded it onto the trailer, and drove the truck & boat down the canyon. Meanwhile, Aubrey was at home finding the nearest InstaCare and getting him registered.

Came out of InstaCare with 6 staples and a nice gauge bandage warpped aroung his head and with a horrible headache, yet he still drove home, as I have never felt compfortable driving on the freeway pulling the boat.

Luckily the stitched can be removed a few says before our Lake Powell trip!😄

Snakes

Snakes

Snakes

and more snakes.
I have never ever liked snakes. Do desire to see them, touch them, let alone hold one, No thank you.
Yet here I am living up in the mountains with snakes on our property and I'm actually okay with it.

I'm not sure what all has changed, other than I am just less fearful of things now.
None of these snakes are Rattler, which is good, though we know they reside here as well.

The previous owners 80-pound dog was bit by a rattle snake a few years ago, and just recently our neighbor next to us was bit by a rattler and was in the hospitalized. I am working on my constant gaze, scanning the areas I am walking towards, but I'm not going to let these snakes keep me from enjoying this beautiful area we live in.

We had great seats and tons of fun and tons of cotton candy
Naomi was ready to go wearing her fancy headphones

Elan chatting it up with one of our local councilmen Teddy.

Aubrey had signed Ikaika up for the Horsestick Race and it was awesome!

30th Anniversary

So crazy to think that 30 years ago today we were getting at up the crack of dawn to get ready and head ti the Los Angles Temple to be married and sealed for time and all eternity.
It was & still is the Best decision that either of us has ever made.
Life together is joyful, peaceful, and full of love.

So much of that stems from making God a part of our marriage and family from the beginning.
The covenants we made and have renewed by proxy many times really do bind us to Him and to each other. They guide our decisions, big and small.

So very thankful that we get to spend this life together learning, growing, stretching, trying, and trying again to become more like our Savior and Heavenly Parents. 💓

Memorial Day-Lake Day

It's Memorial Day-Kick off to Summer-Time to hit the Lake
It may be a little chilly, but that's what wet suits are for

Robert

Aubs

No wet suit required for Kay & Elan. They can handle the cold.
The rest of us were wearing sweats and hoodies on the boat, but we were ALL glad to get out on the water and enjoy our first lake day of the season!

Birthday Poster & LOVE

No one can deny that Kayla is an amazing gift giver,  She thingks deeply about each person in her life and will go to great lengths to love and support them, especially in their BIRTHDAY,

Emily is still confined to the walls of her clinic, so we plan to celebrate her birthday next month when she is back home. But leave it to Kayla to plan and execute the perfect birthday surprise for her sister.

Just seeing this picture again make me teary-eyed. How awesome to look out your window and see Kay out there with one of her famous homemade signs. Her gift & timing were perfect and made Emily's whole day, and week and month. Can't wait to celebrate Em all together as a family soon!

Celebrating Papa's 80th birthday at one oh his favorite places - Handel's

It was fun to gather and share memories about him and things we wish we could have been a part of this past year. He is deeply missed, but we strive daily to keep his legacy of kindness and compassion alive.
Love you papa!

Last Appointment at PCMC

It's B's last appointment at Primary Children's Hospital.

We could have never imagined how myuch time this child would spent at this hospital. From stitches on her face to elbow surgery, to endless rheumotolgy, accupuncture, & massage appointments, to urology and neurology appintments.

It has been a physical &
 emotional roller coaster.

But here you are, heading out on a full time mission with a body and mind that will allow you to serve to the best of your ability. Thank you Primary Chilsrens Medical Center.

Wall Installation

When we bought this house, we knew there was a temporary wall that had been used int he past to create a completely private walkout basement apartment. They had taken the wall down prior to listing the house, but with Jeremy, Lindsay, & Naomi moving in soon, it was time to reinstall it.

Not sure if thye wood had expanded over time or what, but we could not get all of the wall pieces to fit well together. We may need to call in some professionals to finish the wall.
