Best of the West Tourney

I'm a little slow getting this post up, but March marks the beginning of Lacrosse Season.  Yay!  We love this time of year when we get to watch our girls play.  This season Kayla #21 is playing Varsity and Lindsay #14 is playing Junior Varsity.  Both teams are full of some of the most awesome girls we know.  As much as we love the sport, and we totally do, it's the people, especially the girls, that make Bingham Girls Lacrosse so awesome!  Here's to a GREAT SEASON!

After 9 games between Varsity and JV over 2 days,  Lindsay's team came away as the JV tournament champions.  They won 5 games,  all of them by a pretty good margin.  Here's their celebration!

Junior Varsity Tournament Champions!

I Am The Best

Emily's jazz routine this season is choreographed to the song "I'm The Best" This song became big in our family a few years ago when Jenna Johnson performed it with Mark Kanemura on So You Think You Can Dance. (It's the dance with the red lips couch and she stretches out her long braid)  Emi was beyond ecstatic when her teacher Zoe decided to use this song.  Though they took a completely different approach with the Asian costumes and fans,  she put just enough 'Jenna' in it that you can recognize it if you know it.  Here's to RMD's  Teen Company "I'm The Best" routine.

I Am the Best Video

This video is from Teen Company's 1st performance this season.  Emi is fairly easy to find because her bun fell out early on in the dance.  That was not ideal, but it is a fun reminder of Jenna's braid from this dance.  Next time she will double check her braid bun after she inserts the chopsticks through them.

I Am The Best - Final Comp

Teen Company's performance at their final competition of the season.  The choreography has been altered slightly, and cleaned up.  Emi also hits her aerial at 1:06.  Yay!

Lackluster Eggstravaganza

Time for our annual Easter Egg Hunt.  Gone are the days of the 1000+ eggs hidden in the yard.  Gone are the days of large gatherings with friends.  Gone are the days of hiding eggs in construction vehicles. Gone are the days with money in the eggs.  This year it was a low key, everyone is home so......... lets have an egg hunt before we get ready for our next event.

It's still fun to hunt for eggs filled with candy.  Thanks Nic and Aubs for hiding them.

So sad I didn't get a picture of his whole family together.  They are the BEST!

Our BYU Crew - Cousins Rachael, Logan, Katie & Nathan
I should have started taking pictures earlier, but I tend to be good at being in the moment and not good at capturing it.  So many people came out to support Nic and be a part of  his special day.

It was  one we will never forget.  Love you Nic!

Timpanogos Temple Trip

We love to go to the temple - both as a family and as individuals.   With the recent closing of the Jordan River for remodeling, we have been venturing beyond our own little city to do work in other temples throughout the area.  Tonight we went to the Mount Timpanogos Temple in American Fork.

For us, the temple is a place of love and beauty....both inside and out.  The temple brings us peace and perspective as we spend time focusing on our Heavenly Father's plan for us and how we can know Him better and feel of His love.   It also gives us a chance to help others have the blessings of the gospel, which truly is the greatest gift of all.

A big thanks to our friend Abby for having Brenna over tonight. while we were gone.  Just a few more years, and we can all come to the temple together.

Puppy Barn Test Drive

Today Brenna and I drove down to American Fork to test drive a car for me.  It sad to think, but it just may be time to retire our white dotted windshield Burb.  As we drove around pushing all the buttons and testing all the controls, we pulled into a parking lot....and who knew it would be the PUPPY BARN parking lot.  Brenna quickly exited the car and made her way to the door and windows to see the puppies.  The Puppy Barn is a favorite attraction in our neck of the woods.  You get to hold and pet and cuddle all the puppies you want.......you just can't bring them home.  It was a fun surprise for her, and yes, I decided to get the car.

Brenna's New Room

Brenna's new room is coming together.  She loves the colors and loves how it is coming together.  A few more little things here and there, hang some of quotes and frames she picked out....and we'll be done,  It's been a fun process and I love seeing how excited she gets every time she walks into her room.

Happy 15th B-day Lindz

I can not believe this girl is 15!  I remember when she was just a baby!  She brings endless joy and happiness to our family.  Her gentle disposition and desire to do her very best in everything she does has lead to success in many areas of her life.  Her spirit shines bright and her laughter is contagious.  She continues to excel in school, sports, and a vigorous social life.  She is the first to think of others and offer a helping hand.

We love you Lindsay Lou!  So proud of who you are and all you are becoming!!!!

Lindsay's 15th Birthday Breakfast

Moving to the Farm Life

My sister Ally is moving from a traditional suburban house in Gilbert to a 1.25 acre farm within a  half mile of the Gilbert Temple.   With 7 kids (ages 15, 15, 10, 9, 8, 7, & 3)  2 dogs, and a husband on police patrol in nearby Tempe, moving to a farm is no small feat, but if anyone can do it , and do it successfully, it's Ally.  She's kinda a rock star.

A few of the horse corals

Pool - I seriously love the idea of palm tree by the pool

Family/dining room

One of two pastures for future animals

A beautiful sunset with Angel Moroni sticking up above the temple

A pock-LESS cactus in the front yard, that Brenna loved

I must not have been very good with my camera (too busy moving boxes) to catch many people in the pics.  I think this is the only one I have of Ally and her husband Michael and Tariah out viewing their new land.  Al - did we seriously take no pictures together that whole trip?  Now that they are moved in, I think we need to go back and enjoy some time at the farm.  Love you guys!

Cousin Time - Moving Time

With Brenna off-track, and a reasonably light week at home, we took advantage of this time to go visit cousins in Arizona and help my sister Ally move to a new home.

Lots of trampoline time for Saybria and Brenna - while we packed boxes
