July 4th Run

July 4, 2007 Robert and I decided to run the Sandy City 4of July 10K. That was the first race we had ever done. 4 years later, here we are running the same race with 4 of our children and Grandpa Webber. With everyone running, you don't get many pictures, but here's a 'pre race' shot of Grandpa and the girls.
This was also one of the first races Grandpa Webber ever ran, and he has become quite the runner and fitness guru since then. Last year he placed 2nd in his age division and he was going for a PR (personal record) time this year and a possible first place medal. Here's Lindz and Emi finishing together, hands raised, like they always do. It is so great to see your kids cross the finish line ... and so symbolic of them doing their best at everything in life.
What do we do after a morning race.... eat all-you-can eat french toast at Kneaders. So yummy.
And what do we do with the whip cream... smear it on our faces.
Dad reflecting on his speedy race.
The race crew the day after, when we finally remembered to all put on our shirts.
Our medal winners!!! Dad came in 1st place for the 65-69 age division, and his time beat out all the men 60-64 as well. He was most proud to finish in 30minutes. Personal Record - that one may be heard to beat.
Kayla finished 1st in the under 12 age division (she's 10) by quite a bit. She was happy with her time and is already looking forward to running a few more races this summer, including her 1st Half Marathon in September. Way to go guys! You Rock!
