1st day of school

Pioneer Day has passed, so it's back to school for our elementary school girls. It's nice that they can all walk to school together. I will miss my girls, but I know they will be great.
Kayla is in 5th grade this year. She is in a 5/6 ALPS (Accelerated Learning Program) class. She always does her best and has lots of friends in her class.
Emily is in 1st grade this year. It's the all-day thing for her now. She is excited to eat school lunch and has no real concerns about this big change. She looks a little like 'bring it on' in this picture.
Lindsay is in 3rd grade. She is a leader, both academically and socially in her class. She is such a fun kid, I wish I could be her teacher.
Have a great day girls! Love you lots, Mom

B's Backyard Carnival

For Brenna's birthday we planned a Backyard Carnival and Swimming Party. Each of her sisters made and manned a booth. Aubrey and her friend Emma did face-painting, with Spiderman being the favorite amoungst the boys.
Kayla did a Tie-Dye Art Station. She helped the kids make tie-dyed art with shaving cream & food coloring. It was messy but fun. Her friends Kenley and Savannah helped her.

On the left side you can see Emi manning her CTR bean bag toss. Between the 2 ballons is Lindsays Fishing game. We were busy enjoying the festivities and not taking many pictures.

Brenna opening presents.
Brenna's favorite part was the cake and ice cream. She loves birthdays and the cake and ice cream that comes along with it.
HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY BRENNA!
We love you,
Mom, Dad, Aubrey, Kayla, Lindsay, & Emi

Pioneer Day hike

July 24th is Pioneer Day. It is a time to commemorate and reflect on the amazing trek the pioneers made in traveling West to the Salt Lake Valley. We spent our afternoon hiking up American Fork Canyon on the Silver Lakes Trail with Bloxhams. It was a bit of a challenge for the shortest legged hikers, but we enjoyed the scenery, the company, and the waterfall that led us to the final peak.

Brenna's 3rd Birthday

Brenna loves birthdays, especially her own! Mom was in Santa Barbara on Brenna's birthday, so Dad threw a family party for her. She loved her cake and opening presents from her friend Karley and her sisters.
Then she had a few days to look forward to her Backyard Carnival on Saturday with all of her friends and their families. Happy Birthday Miss B

Santa Barbara Girls Trip

To celebrate Mom's 60th birthday, we took her to Santa Barbara for a week. I don't think we had ever done a girls trip before, but we had a great time together. Barb, Ally, and I were feeling adventurous our first day, so we decided to attend a Bikram Yoga class. That is 90 minutes of yoga in a 102 degree studio. The instructor tolds us that our success would be based on our ability to stay in the studio for the entire 90 minutes. Whew. We were all successful, but man there were several times we wanted to head for the door. Here we are in some of our favorite poses. Barb especially liked the unique breathing techniques we were supposed to use.
Here we are just hanging out at our house. Our rental house was fully stocked and had plenty of room. We even enjoyed a nice patio out back in the early mornings.
Another day we rented bikes, or rather a bicycle built for 4. We had a blast cruising around the area and ringing our bell.

There was still plenty of time for shopping. This was one of my favorite stores. Talk about overwhleming. The walls are literally lined with jewlery and accessories. But no, I made no purchases here.
And of course, we did hit the beach. The water was a little cold, but the sand was nice and warm. We all enjoyed relaxing and basking in the sun. Thanks for a great week girls! Love you lots, J

4th of July 2009

We love the 4th of July. It is a day that usually involves running, swimming, eating, friends, family, and fireworks. And it's a day that we reflect on what a wonderful country we live in, with so many freedoms and opportunities. I can't think of anything better.

We started our day early with the annual Sandy City 5K. This year we all ran our own race at our own pace and did very well. Everyone placed somewhere in the top 10 for their age division. Robert came in 2nd, Jenna 5th, Kayla 2nd, Aubrey 8th with a new PR, and Grandpa Webber came in 3rd accomplishing his goal of never stopping. Here's a few pictures from that event.

Then it was on to food and fireworks with friends and family. We had our neighborhood gathering at the Brown's this year and it was a BLAST!

Lagoon

Lagoon is a local amusement park here in Utah. It is a combination theme park/water park. It is a fun place with a good combination of kiddie rides as well as thrill seeking-adrenaline pumping rides, so everyone's needs are met. Then when we are hot and tired, we head over to the water slides and lazy river. We always have a great time at Lagoon.

Grandma and the girls twirlin' and whirlin'.

Robert and the girls headed up, WAYYYY up.

I feel better when they're back on the ground.
