Influenza B

Lindz has been sick all weekend, like in bed sleeping since Friday night.  We took her in to see Dr. Johnson this morning and she tested positive for Influenza B.  She is out of commission for at least a week, and we can reevaluate at that point.  All she wants to do is sleep, so she'll be doing lots of that while her body recovers and heals.  So sorry Lindz.

New Room for Brenna

Our plans for today fell through, so we took advantage of the time to fulfill one of Brenna's big wishes - Painting her Room

She chose a super pretty Coral for the top and Elephant Grey for the bottom.  It is looking awesome!

Pit Stop to Heritage Halls

While down in Provo, we made a pit stop to Heritage Halls to see Aubrey.  Though I love having her living on her own and being away at college, I sure do love to see her face in person and feeling of her strong spirit.  The girls always get excited when they know we might get to see Aubs, and it warms my heart.

Hilary Weeks

Hilary Weeks is a singer and songwriter of faith based music.  She started writing music for EFY  (Especially For Youth) Camps back in the early 1990's, and I think I've been listening to her music since then.  Hence, my girls been listening to Hilary's Weeks since the womb.  Her music has always inspired me, strengthened my faith, and brought joy to my heart.  I've heard her speak and sing several times over the years at small concerts and conferences. Tonight she came to speak to the Relief Society Sisters (woman 18 and over) and the Young Women (ages 12-18) in our Stake about 'Building a Strong Foundation in Jesus Christ.

Brenna got to be my special guest for tonight's event and she loved it!  I think she lip synced with every song she sang and could not have been happier to get to talk with her after.

Brenna's thoughts:
I am so grateful I had the experience to meet Hilary. The spirit
was so strong and the music was beautiful. I hope we will cross
paths again, maybe at Target or something crazy like that.
(A quote from her "Bedtime and  Naptime" CD)

Midway Ice Castles

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to explore Elsa's Ice Castle from the movie Frozen?
In Utah, A town of Ice Castles doe exist for all to explore.  You can even Elsa and Anna wandering around if you are lucky.
The ice castles are created and built each winter near Midway, UT - not too far from Park City.  You travel through pathways and tunnels exploring the different ice creations.  At night, there are lights that reflect off the ice and it is breathtakingly gorgeous.

You can read more about these amazing ice creations here: http://icecastles.com/gallery/

It started to snow while we were there, which only added to the ambiance of the evening.

We all wore snow pants so we could slide down the small and large slides they had created.        (We'd heard you get pretty wet and stuck sliding down in jeans)

                                                                      The larger slide

A super fun night to be together and to enjoy the beauties that winter time affords us.

Church History Museum

With no school today, we headed downtown to the recently remodeled Church History Museum with Katie and Logan.  With the new remodel, you couldn't even tell it was the same museum.  There are now lots of high tech videos and interactive displays.  In the above picture we had just watch a new movie about The First Vision in an almost 360 IMAX type theater.  It was super cool!

The girls always love standing and talking at Podiums.  This is a replica of the podium currently found in the Conference Center with the screens, teleprompters, and timing elements to keep speakers from going over their allotted time.

Brenna is pretty sure she'd like to speak at General Conference one day.

Downstairs there were Pioneer games

activities centers to build and create things.  Here's a fun look at last time we visited this museum:

After, we hit the California Burgers and Deli across from West High School.  Yummy burgers and really good Utah Fry Sauce.  Thanks Yelp for the suggestion.  One of the highlights during lunch was seeing the Oscar Meir Wiener Mobile drive past.  Such a fun afternoon.  Thanks to Katie and Logan for sharing it with us!

Our BYU Crew

Our BYU crew is made up of nieces, nephews, roommates, and friends down at BYU that come up for dinner about once a month. It started a few years ago with  Nathan - and has now grown to Nathan, Katie, Logan, Rachael, Aubrey, Nic and any roomies that join.  Look at those good looking young men and beautiful girls on the couch.

We love having our BYU Crew over

The Miller BobSked

Robert and the girls spent time at DI (Goodwill) this morning, looking for items to make some type of snow creation.  This is what they ended up with......a pair of skis and an cushy kids chair.  Within the hour, those items became our official family 'BobSked'.

Time to try this thing out.  Not knowing exactly what to expect, we decided to make this a 'helmet required' activity.

W e had a blast with our new BobSked.  Many more adventures ahead for us with this concoction!

Snow Shoeing Fun

I don't always love living in the Snow, but I do LOVE Snow Shoeing!  It's my favorite winter pastime and I love that I have great friends that will bundle up and go out with me!  This morning Amy and I ventured out on a trail just south of Alta.  We were the minority with quite a few cross country skiers om that path as well.  It was a beautiful day with blue skies and light clouds - which are the best days to get out an enjoy nature.  We are always in awe of God's creations as we spend time in the majestic mountains near our homes.  It is beautiful, peaceful, serene, and always as adventure as we explore and try to make sure we can find out back to the car.
 Love these Mountains!
And this cute partner of mine!

Heritage Move-In Day

Today we moved Aubs into her new dorm in Heritage Halls.  She went from a small dorm room with one roommate an attached bathroom and a meal plan - to apartment style living with 6 total roommates, a kitchen, living area, larger room, and a 'cook your own food' meal plan.  It's going to be awesome.
It looks so spacious compared to her last room.
I just had to take a picture of this.    Aubrey is an Art History Major - she can eat, sleep, and breathe Art History stuff, but she doesn't really DO art much, or so I thought.  Last semester she painted is for her roommate Amy's birthday.  I love it!  I think it's awesome and it's one of the things I always love to see up in their room.
