PROM 2016

                                                 Kayla's 1st Prom

Kayla and Nathan - He has been one of her best friends since middle school.  They are two outstanding kids -  kind, compassionate, hard working, dedicated, thoughtful and can even be  fiercely competitive in their respective sports. They are a dynamic duo and were glad Nathan was her date for this special night.

The next morning we asked her to put her dress on one more time for a pic with her Royal Sash and flowers.  Such a beautiful girl in every way.

Playtime

Once Kay was off, the rest of us headed to Trafalga for some much needed Playtime.
Baby ball bowling

Brenna had the Frog Hopper ride all to herself

                                          A little Rock Climbing

Finishing off with some outdoor Mini-Golf.
                               Look at ALL these Hole-In-Ones.

Fun times just being together.  Missed you Kay, but we know you're having a blast.

Surprise!!! 2016 Royalty

Life has been a little busy at out house lately.  Robert has been crazy busy with his new job and church responsibilities.  Aubrey just moved back in after her 1st year at BYU.  We've had 2 school campaign going, lacrosse season is in full swing with Kayla on Varsity and Lindsay on JV.  Emily is in the middle of dance competition season and Brenna is getting ready for her play performance next week.  I strive to just 'keep it all moving'.

Today a call came from the high school let us know that Kayla was chosen for this years Prom Court and they would like to 'Surprise' her with this announcement at the Varsity Lacrosse game that night.  They said that had cleared it with her Lacrosse coaches already.   That was the info we got.   Well, they played am awesome game, crushing Timpanogos 21-3, but we never saw anyone from the school that seemed to know anything about any announcement.  We hung around  for bit after. the game...nothing.  Aubs and Nic left to go pick up Emi from dance and Robert and I started heading home.  As we were leaving the parking lot, we saw some of the Bingham SBO's .  They were looking for Kay's Jeep, but she had come in her friends truck.  We followed them to players lots, and luckily the players were still just working their way over there from the field.  They quickly jumped in the truck and we just watched and waited for Kay to open the truck door.

We couldn't see too closely what happened when she did open the door, but we hear a SBO dressed in a full gorilla suit jumped up while another SBO congratulated her on being named to this years Prom Court.
SURPRISE!!     This was the first picture we got when we got over there.  The gorilla mask had been removed, but she was still looking pretty shocked!!!

Congrats Kay!  I can't imagine a better Prom Court nominee.  You a beautiful girl inside and out - with a big heart and desire to lift and love others.

Emi's Re-Election Campaign

Just as we were finishing up Kayla's campaign, it was time to start Emi's.   Em has been a Student Body Officer at SoJo Middle School the past year, and she LOVED it.  LOve, LOve, LOved it!  She couldn't imagine not running again - so here we go.

Her campaign slogan is -Let's make this School 1 in a MILLion - Vote Emily MILLer  - with the M's made from paper clips.  We went from punching and tying yarn through Dolla Bills to making 1 in a MILLion Paper Clip bracelets.  One large colorful paperclip along side 6 regular sized silver paperclips.  We cleared out the Dollar Store shelves twice, buying what felt like a million paperclips.

The infamous bracelets.  This girl seems to have a pulse on what kids will like,  Last year she did these cool stamps and everyone wanted them.  This year the bracelets - and everyone wanted to wear them.

Another poster for the school.

A huge SHOUTOUT to her campaign manager Eliza.  Once things left our house, Eliza took care of everything on the school front.

Asthma Issues

Miss Em has been having a hard time breathing lately.  We thought it was just a long cold, but it seems to get worse, especially when she is dancing or running.

This was the 'Blow the House Down' test.

She didn't 'blow the house down' very well, so we did a breathing treatment there in the office.
And then another one.....

After 2 rounds her levels had raised to using about 70% of her lung capacity.  Not great, but better than where she was.
But as you know...nothing keeps this girl from smiling.

Duck Feeding

We spent the morning up at Daybreak Lake feeding the ducks.

Oh how  these girls love ducks....especially baby ducks.

I love the joy that comes from just being together and enjoying the beauty and simple pleasures of life.

Bingham Elections - Kayla

After 2 great years at Bingham High School, Kayla decided to run for Student Body Officer for her upcoming Senior Year.  This is new territory for our family and it has been a fun adventure.  Kay's nickname among her friends and classmates is Dolla Mil - so she decided to go with a 'money' theme, and the 'CHANGE' she would like to bring to Bingham.

For her handout she passed out these Dollar Bills  - Robert helped her put amazing detail in these

There were handouts to tie, banners to paint, posters to make....

elections pretty much took over our whole house for a few weeks (Emily is also running a re-election campaign at the middle school right now too...more to come on that)
Everyone pitched in to help - friends, family, extended family

I think the 10 foot by 10 foot banner was the hardest, but Kayla put it together no problem

Seeing all of her hard work come together was awesome!
 Looks good Dolla Mil
