Jordan Ridge Fun Run

The Fun Run is a Jordan Ridge tradition. The South Jordan Police close off 9800 South so the students can run the 1/2 or mile course, finishing in front of the school.

Brenna hung out with her teacher, as she could not run in her cast. Bummer.

Color Run

Kayla ran the Color Run with her Cheer Team this year.  The color truly gets everywhere - in your ears, eyes,  nose, and even in between your teeth.  This girl truly does love to run.

You Came Back to Seminary

Aren't Seminary teachers awesome?  This video was made by Seminary teachers (high school religion teachers) at Lehi High School to welcome their students this school year.  It has brought tons of smiles and laughs to our family the past few weeks.  We hope you enjoy it as well!

Downhill Dash Aftermath

We survived another  Downhill Dash, which is a 5 mile race starting at Alta and running down the canyon.  Great race times, but rough on the quads.  Kayla was sick this weekend, so she sat at the lodge waiting for us to return, and Brenna stayed with a friend, and we missed both of them, but still a good time, and awesome SWAG.  I sometimes feel guilty for how much stuff we walk away with at this race. Robert,Aubrey, & Lindsay all came in 1st in their age groups winning a free overnight stay at the Alta Peruvian Lodge and several free meals at the restaurant there.  Emi and I came in 2nd in our age groups and we also won free meals to the restaurant.  We got all sorts of museum passes, outdoor gear, and a free ski pass in the random drawings.  This race comes with a BBQ dinner at the Alta resort just after the finish.  The girls love to eat and sit in the hot tubs, and I love just being outside in the mountains rubbing down my quads.

Brigham City

We were able to take our family with the youth of our ward up to the Brigham City Temple Open House.  Our girls have been very lucky to go through so many temples before they have been dedicated.  There is much that can be learned from simply touring a temple.  Starting in the basement with the baptistry and the cleansing power of the Atonement that takes place there.  And gradually working your way up through the instruction rooms, where you are taught and make sacred covenants individually. And ultimately, being sealed together as a couple, linking those chains of everlasting love and everlasting life together.  It is literally 'The House of the LORD' here on the Earth, and his love and spirit can be felt throughout.  The temple is a place  that we go to prepare to meet God.  Each one of God's spiritual children that has come to this Earth to receive a physical body through mortal parents, will one day pass through death and their spirit will return back to it's heavenly home.  This is made possible ONLY through our Savior Jesus Christ, and the temple helps prepare us for that reunion and links ALL of God's children back together into one heavenly family.    There is no place we would rather be with our family, than in a temple, and today was one of those special days.

Lindz Sunflowers

Lindz got a packet of sunflower seeds from some activity and decided to plant them in an old water pump in the back yard.  We waited in anticipation for weeks for the first one to burst open, and now have a fun collection of sunflowers to brighten up our yard.

Bug-Eyed

Our girls love bugs

I'm not sure where their fascinating comes from, but they love to catch and examine all different forms of bug life.

3 Temple Bike Tour

We took a 3 Temple Bike Tour with our friend Abby.  Started at home, rode up to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple, then over past Abby's house and up to the Draper Temple (High on the Mountain Top, literally) and then back by the Jordan River Temple (pictured below) and back home.

We feel very lucky to live in a place with so many beautiful temples around us.  They are a joy to see, a pleasure to serve in, and  true treasures to our family.  So glad Abby could share this morning with us!

La Costa

Time for a little La Costa in our lives.  We enjoyed a late lunch together and had the place to ourselves. Amor!
