Officer Inauguration

Today was the Bingham High School Inauguration for next years Student Body Officers.

The whole student body squeezes into the gym bleachers to recognize Spring Sport Championships, as well as the former and incoming Student Body Officers.  It was so fun to see Robert escort her in.

Binhgam High Senior Class Officers - Jonah, John Carlo, Evan & Kayla

Her friends have a tradition of making and wearing tie-dye shirts on the last Tuesday of the school year.  Following the assembly, Kayla through hers on over her dress.  What a great crew this is!!!

We are so very proud of this girl. Running for SBO is never easy, but we are so glad she was willing to try.  She has such a kind heart and desires to love and serve everyone.  She will be such a great Senior Class Officer.  Love you Kay J La!!!

Seminary Graduation

The end of the school year is upon us.  Tonight we honored the youth in our stake who have completed 4 years of Seminary.  You can read more about thus Religious Education Program here...

www.mormonnewsroom.org/topic/seminary

These are the youth from the congregation Robert leads.  Oh how we love these kids.  As I write this, 2 of the young men pictured are already out serving missions (one on the Philippines and the other in Rome, Italy)  and several of the young women have moved onto attending the local single ward and will soon go away to college.   There are so many life changes going on for these youth right now.  I'm so glad they have studied, learned, and are developing their individual testimonies and relationship with the Savior.  With Christ as their anchor and guide, they will flourish and grow throughout their lives.  Lots of love to the 4th ward Seminary Graduates!

Grandeur Peak

We really enjoy hiking together as a family.  We love being outside, exploring new places, and conquering mountains.  This summer we had 2 hiking goals:

1)  To hike more often
2) To summit 3 mountain peaks in Utah

Our first major mountain hike was Grandeur Peak.

Grandeur Peak is an 8299 foot summit on the east side of Salt Lake Valley. It is one of Utah's easier mountains to summit. At the top you get extensive views over the Salt Lake Valley, and also of neighboring peaks.  It is a 5.3 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail and is rated Difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible from May until October.

Some of those 'activity options' for us were doing the Karate Kids move on tree stumps and collecting wildflowers to place in one another's braids.

Brenna at the top.  It was a hard hike, but this girl totally hangs in there and LOVES having her picture taken at the TOP!

Kayla and her Nature Valley Bar

Aubrey wore her new Chaco's - didn't work out too well for the difficult terrain, but she still made it.

Success....

                                             for each of us

Emi's Russian jump at the top

We made it!  Beautiful view of the Salt Lake Valley below.
Once we got down, it was off to our favorite post hike location

Tie-Dye Time

While Kayla and her friend tie dyed shirts for 'Tie-Dye Tuesday' (the last Tuesday of the school year)
Emi and Tessa tie dyed shirts for their entire their entire 7th grade team to wear as uniforms for 'Sports Day'
They had a blast making them, and they turned about really good.

Celebrating 21 years of Marriage

Tonight we celebrated our anniversary the same we do do every year - with a night at the temple.  21 years ago today we entered the Los Angeles Temple to be married for time and all eternity .  We covenanted with the Lord and with each other to live our lives in accordance with God's laws and to be eternal help meets to one another.  We know that if we keep our covenants with the Lord and each other,  that death cannot separate us.  Temples bind families together for eternity and bring great peace and comfort to our lives here on earth.

Once we have been married and sealed for time and all eternity to our own spouse and families, we can then perform those sacred ordinances for others who have already passed on from this life, but were not able to make these binding covenants while here on earth.  It is so wonderful to serve as a proxy for others and give them the opportunity to choose for themselves in the spirit world whether to accept or reject the ordinances performed on their behalf.  We love being able to give others that chance, and as we do so, rededicate our own selves to living and following the commandments of the Lord.  Participating in sealings, especially on our anniversary, brings us great joy.    There is no place we would rather be then here in The House of the Lord.

Emi's 13th Birthday

Happy Happy Birthday to our newest teenager!  Emily Autumn is 13 today!  Wow!  Emily brings so much joy, energy, and fun to our family.  She is the life of the party and a friend to everyone.  She has always been very expressive (as noted in the photos below) as well as very verbal.  She can talk your ear off, but she can also listen with the best of them. Her spirit is strong and compassionate and she is  definitely a people person.  Em has always been self motivated and full of confidence.  That is definitely a gift from God and she strives to use that gift to help and lift others.  Here are just a few pics from her fun day:

Chocolate chip pancakes with syrup and whip cream (she takes after Buddy the Elf)

She was a little sad to have her dance studio auditions on her birthday, because of all the pressure, but it still turned out for a good day. She also LOVES opening presents - can you tell?

Sweet Tart Gummies - makes her happy happy happy

A dance shirt that says COOL -happy happy happy

Treasures from Grandma Webber.....

A pig carving (Pigs and Elvis are some of her favorite things)

and....Werther's Original from Gma & Gpa Webber

and MORE Werther's Original - happy happy happy

Earrings from Grandma & Papa

not just any earrings....Hoop earrings.  Thanks Grandma & Papa

A card from Nic with...

an H & M gift card - one of her favorite places to shop :)

The awesome gifts kept coming....she knew what this one was an soon as she opened the box

Keep Calm and Rond De Jambe.   She has been eyeing this shirt for months,  if not years.

One last present.  Even with the bulky size of the box, I don' t think she knew what was inside yet.

But Emi LIKES IT!

She has been wanting a long board for a long time. Somehow this was a birthday when all her dreams came true.
One final gift came in the mail from Arizona.

Thanks Miss L.    Thanks for always remembering Em and her special days.

She wanted to celebrate with donuts and her new dance shirt.  A great end to a great 13th b-day.    Love you Em's.
