Summer Fun

We have had a great summer. Here are some of our adventures captured on my phone. Last week we went to church in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and tonight we went to a wedding reception for our neighbor Scott at the top of that same building. What an amazing view of the temple. Some of the girls think they would like to have their wedding receptions here. It was so pretty, I could have just sat in the window seat all night. I love a good view!

Got to go to BYU with Barb while Nathan was looking for an on-campus job. My favorite place on campus ... the Sports Hall of Fame Building. If you've never been, it's so worth your time. Aubrey was interested in the 'cheerleading' section, wondering if one day she could cheer at BYU.

She can already do that stunt...so who knows.

She also liked replicating the smallest athletes to ever compete at BYU - gymnasts of course.
At the beach with the Holt cousins on a chilly July afternoon.

Our friend Bumble in the Riverton Parade. The girls still remember when my cousin Gary worked for the Bees Minor League Baseball team and came over with Bumble's costume. Fun times.

Our friend Aubrey and her cheer team in the Riverton Parade. You'll notice her gloves with the fingers cut off so she could tumble in the street.

And finally, our friend Cosmo in the Riverton Parade. We love Cosmo!
Brenna jumping off the diving board at swim lessons.
B with her teacher Kate. This year swimming really clicked for her and she is now like a fish in the water.
Lindz getting ready to have her ears pierced.

Beautiful. She has joined the ear pierced society.

Robert and I after riding up to Rose Canyon. It's our favorite ride close to home.

AJ chillin in a hammock at a park in Daybreak

B climbing while AJ chills.

Emi and Odie at Skye Park
K at Skye Park
Trying to scream while on California Screamin

In line for Wild Mouse at Lagoon.

Midnight Run

The fam after the Midnight 5k...still smiling. We were glad that everyone (minus Brenna) could run this year. It was a beautiful night, a fun course and we love doing this race with the Bloxham's and Sandquist's.
The pre-race gathering. Pinning on bibs, masks, and glowsticks.
I think this is Aubrey in the glowing baseball cap. That was definitely a hit this year.

And Em wearing a cap in the light. She and Linsdz were the youngest kids out on the course, and they did awesome. Kayla won first in her age division by over 7 minutes and came in 6th out of all 350 women. Aubrey also ran, minus her Ipod, and was glad when it was over. It makes for a late but enjoyable evening.

Blogging Lull

I have hit a lull in my blogging experience. Back in August, following a trip to Park City with Robert's side of the family, my computer crashed. I have been unable to retrieve the 300 plus photos that I had transferred to it and deleted from the camera. There is one lull. Now my camera, with all our pictures from the last few weeks, seems to be missing. It may be in Robert's car in long term parking at the Salt Lake Airport, it may be someone in our house that I just can't possible come up with, or it may have been left behind after our race Saturday up at Alta. Hence, another lull. I do have some stuff from my phone that I haven't blogged about, but let's hope I can be reunited with my camera soon. Wishing you a wonderful day.

Our 8th grader

Today is Aubrey's 1st day of 8th grade at South Jordan Middle School. She has the normal pre-school jitters, but is excited to see who is in her classes and what her year will be like.
She is very into 'zebra prints' right now, so this backpack is perfect for her.

Her schedule for the year is
1st - Gym
2nd - Concert Choir
3rd - Spanish
4th - US History Honors
5th - Science Honors
6th - Algebra
7th - English Honors
Looks like a tough finish to the day.
Here's our happy girl! We love you lots babe!

Brenna's 1st day

Today is Brenna's 1st day of preschool at Sunshine Square. She will miss her friends from Paradise Preschool last year, but is excited about the new experiences she will have.
Her teacher's name is Miss Alyssa and they both have naturally curly hair.
Brenna eating her favorite lunch, a peanut butter sandwich, before heading off to school.
And yes, she chose to wear her Minnie dress for the first day. Such a character!
